Cappadocia Green Tour
Overview
The Green Tour heads further afield to the dramatic west of Cappadocia, where the scenery turns from fairy chimneys to canyons and rivers. The highlight is the Ihlara Valley, a green gorge carved by the Melendiz River, lined with Byzantine rock churches and shaded by poplar trees.
You also descend into the astonishing depths of Derinkuyu Underground City and finish at Selime, a vast cave monastery whose landscape famously recalls the world of Star Wars. It is Cappadocia’s best full day of nature and history combined.

Pick-up & times
Complimentary pick-up and drop-off at Cappadocia-area hotels (Göreme, Ürgüp, Uçhisar, Nevşehir, Avanos). Full-day tours depart around 09:30 and return about 17:30.
What to wear
Comfortable walking shoes and seasonal layers. Cappadocia mornings are cool even in summer; afternoons can be warm.
Fitness level
Easy to moderate. Some valleys involve light walking on uneven ground.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Morning pick-up around 09:30 and a visit to the multi-level Derinkuyu Underground City. Drive to the Ihlara Canyon and walk along the Melendiz River to Belisırma village, passing rock-cut churches spread across the landscape. Enjoy lunch by the river, then continue to Selime, a village of cave houses beneath a Star Wars-like landscape. Return to your hotel around 17:30.
