A Red Sea break should feel like a holiday, not another schedule to manage. Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh both appear in our three-night collection, with time at your hotel and the possibility of a desert evening. The useful comparison is not which destination wins, but which package gives you the days you want.
Start with the holiday rhythm: leisure or safari?
Each destination has two versions. A leisure stay includes hotel accommodation and airport transfers, leaving excursions optional. The safari version includes a desert outing on the second day, with sunset, a Bedouin-style dinner and traditional performances including Tanoura.
If that desert evening is central to your plans, start with the Hurghada safari stay or Sharm El Sheikh safari stay. If you prefer to leave both leisure days open, compare the hotel-based versions instead. The vehicle arrangement for the safari is confirmed before booking; do not assume both a quad ride and a 4x4 excursion are included.
Hurghada: a straightforward soft all-inclusive base
The listed Hurghada Comfort and Elegant hotel options use a soft all-inclusive basis. That makes the Hurghada leisure stay a useful starting point if you want meals within your hotel arrangements and no compulsory sightseeing programme.
The exact property and included drinks still need confirmation. Hotel category labels do not guarantee a particular room, view, beach setup or activity. Share what matters to you so the team can check the proposed hotel rather than treating all alternatives as interchangeable.
Sharm El Sheikh: understand the meal-plan difference
In the Sharm collection, Comfort accommodation is all inclusive, while Elegant accommodation is half board. Lunch is not included with the Elegant option unless explicitly confirmed. This distinction applies to both the leisure and safari programmes.
The Sharm El Sheikh leisure stay may appeal when your priority is a flexible hotel break. Choose the accommodation on the basis of its confirmed facilities and meal plan, not an assumption that the word Elegant automatically means more inclusions.
Leave space for the sea, without assuming extras
Optional experiences may include boat outings, glass-bottom boat trips, water activities and desert excursions. These require separate confirmation of availability, suitability, operating conditions and price. A destination photograph does not promise a particular boat, wildlife encounter or hotel view.
For families, share children’s ages and any activity requirements before selecting an excursion. For everyone, check flight arrangements, hotel board, room setup and the transfer details. Flights and scheduled coach transfers from Cairo are excluded from these short stays. If you want to add a city break, our Egypt itinerary guide explains how to approach a combined proposal without assuming the connection is included.
Explore the Egypt tour collection, then send your preferred dates, traveller numbers and room arrangements to our Egypt team. A written quotation will confirm accommodation, availability and the services you choose. International and domestic flights are excluded from these programmes.
